Who appraises other stuff?
Traditionally, we have appraised a wide range of fine art, but there have always been numerous types of art -- Asian, Native American, Oceanic, etc. -- that we have not appraised. There has also been a wide range of other types of personal property -- antiques, jewelry, silver, residential contents, etc. -- that we have not appraised. We therefore maintain a list of colleagues whom we trust to provide the highest level of professional services. We always try to match up clients who have such appraisal needs with appropriate appraisers.
When we refer you to a professional appraisal society for a recommendation, we make referrals to all three.
The American Society of Appraisers (ASA)

We do not make referrals to members of “appraisal societies” other than these three. Our preference is always to recommend accredited members of The American Society of Appraisers and the Appraisers Association of America because they require all accredited members to pass a test in and practice in conformity with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) promulgated by The Appraisal Foundation in Washington, D.C. Increasingly USPAP is recognized as the difference between a truly professional appraiser and all of the others who say they do appraisals.
